Dear X,

I hope this finds you well. We are very glad that you published many articles on Verfassungsblog in the last years. We are an expanding diamond open access discourse platform, which means, that we do not charge publication fees but we depend on financial support from libraries in form of annual contributions. If you see Verfassungsblog as a valuable resource we would appreciate your help with Building a reliable and sustainable Financing inrastructure.

It is important for libraries to use their resources according to the needs of researchers when they participate in funding open access publications. If you consider Verfassungsblog a platform that has and should continue to have a place in the jurisprudential publication Landscape - for you as a Researcher, for your students, and as a freely accessible platform also for the General public - then we would like to ask you to communicate this to the responsible offices of your library. A short mail that you make use of Verfassungsblog as an author and Reader and consider it important and worthy of support as an open Access medium for your scholarly work would be fantastic!

You can also refer to me as a contact Person and add a link to our Information page for libraries:

https://verfassungsblog.de/libraries-en/

Thank you very much

Liebe/r X,

Dear X,

I hope this finds you well. I'm writing you regarding the next financing round for Verfassungsblog starting 2025.

First of all, I want to thank your Institution for the support we received so far and we are very glad, that Verfassungsblog continues to grow as a project and with it its high quality content, also thanks to your support. For different reasons we decided to end our collaboration with Knowledge Unlatched (KU). Therefore, we want to establish funding agreements with the institutions who have been supporting us via KU so far. Please let us know, if your institution wants to continue to support Verfassungsblog and don't hesitate to contact me if you need further information or if you have any questions.

What we do

Verfassungsblog is an academic and journalistic open access forum of debate on topical events and developments in constitutional law and politics in Germany, the emerging European constitutional space and beyond. It sees itself as an interface between the academic expert discourse on the one hand and the political public sphere on the other. Each submission will be reviewed by Verfassungsblog’s editors. Unsolicited submissions are also subject to review by Verfassungsblog’s associate editors in order to ensure the quality of the content. Each year more than 800 articles are being published in german and english and we have more than 100.000 readers each month. Verfassungsblog is a non-profit-Organziation and scholarly-owned.

Diamond Open Access Model

Verfassungsblog is and always has been open access which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user, the author or his/her institution. Verfassungsblog’s content is generally published under the Creative Commons Licence CC BY-SA. Although we don't charge any fees, we depend on financial support from Institutions and Organisations to cover the cost of these services. Verfassungsblog fully fulfils the Operational Diamond OA Criteria for Journals from DIAMAS and is listed in the Directory of Open Access Journals.

Institution X at Verfassungsblog

Researchers from your institution have published X articles on Verfassungsblog between 2021 and 2024. Our website has also been accessed from cityX XX times in the last years.
