Dear X,

I hope this finds you well. I am responsible for Community and Library Outreach at Verfassungsblog. I would like to invite you to become a supporting member of Verfassungsblog as a diamond open access publishing platform that is frequently used by researchers from your institution: Between 2021 and 2024, Verfassungsblog has published X articles by X authors affiliated with Institution X .

Verfassungsblog offers researchers a space for publication and debate without charging any fees to authors or readers. As a diamond open access service publishing more than 700 reviewed articles per year we depend on support from libraries to continue our work and offer high quality services and content.

Considering that Verfassungsblog is a relevant and valued resource for your researchers, we would be happy to welcome you as a supporting member of our platform and community. Among the institutions that already support our work are The London School of Economics and Political Science, Harvard Law School or Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Here you can find an overview of all institutions currently supporting Verfassungsblog.

Further information on what we do and our open access model is available below as well as summarized in a flyer attached and on our website.

We’ll be happy to clarify any questions you may still have regarding our request or Verfassungsblog in general, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

What we do

Verfassungsblog is an academic and journalistic open access forum of debate on topical events and developments in constitutional law and politics in Germany, the emerging European constitutional space and beyond. It provides a forum for academic expertise and makes it accessible for the broader public sphere. Each submission is subject to review by Verfassungsblog’s editors and if necessary by Verfassungsblog’s associate editors. This ensures the academic quality of Verfassungsblog’s content which is recognized by scholars around the world. We publish around 800 articles annually in German as well as in English that are attract more than 150.000 monthly visits. Verfassungsblog is a non-profit organziation, scholarly-driven and actively involved in the OA community.

Diamond open access model

Verfassungsblog is and always has been open access which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user, the author or their institution. Verfassungsblog’s content is generally published under the Creative Commons Licence CC BY-SA. Although we don't charge any fees, we depend on financial support from Institutions and Organisations to cover the cost of these services. Verfassungsblog fully meets the Operational Diamond OA Criteria for Journals from DIAMAS and is indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals.

To be able to continue publishing high quality content without charging any fees to the authors, we recommend an annual contribution of 3.000 € to sustainably strengthen Verfassungsblog as an essential part of the OA Constitutional Law and Politics community.

Liebe/r X,
